Announce to all interested parties about your upcoming activation in advance and as widely as possible:

You can do it yourself, but you have to register on these resources before. If you have not registered yet, you can ask for assistance to the national coordinator or the log manager or other colleagues who have already registered on these resources (there may be significant delays depending on the busyness, current possibilities and accessibility of your assistants).

If possible, use frequencies most popular among the WWFF participants, hunters will quickly notice your activity there:

  • Phone: 3.744, 7.144, 14.244, 18.144, 21.244, 24.944, 28.444 kHz ±QRM;
  • CW: 3.544, 7.024, 10.124, 14.044, 18.084, 21.044, 24.894, 28.044 kHz ±QRM.

When sending CQ, report that you operate from the SPNA by regularly announcing the FF reference number. Then you will be noticed and answered by interested hunters faster, and, very likely, your activity will be spotted to the cluster — it will attract additional attention to your activity.

For example: CQ CQ de CALL CALL RFF-nnnn k
“44” can help also: CQ CQ 44 de CALL

On SSB it will be the best with CQ CQ Flora Fauna, I am CALL CALL from Russian Flora Fauna nnnn…

When activating the SPNA, aspire to give your FF reference to as many hunters as possible — make a maximum number of QSO.

To make efforts to get into “fields” with QRPppppp… equipment and an inefficient antenna just in order to make QSO with a couple of neighbors on the maximum number of bands by all available modes — just to fill out the required minimal number of 44 QSO — is the worst manner of activation.

Of course, far not always is possible to deliver into SPNA and deploy a set of powerful equipment with incredibly effective beam antennas there. On the other hand, the use of QRP fits very well the idea of the "Green Planet" and is noticeable popular among WWFF activators. It remains only to care for as much efficient antennas as possible. Short ATAS-whip or a low-lifted EFHW with a 1:64 transformer on a ferrite core and a half-watt transceiver, quite acceptable in order to drag out a couple of QSO's with the same QRP fans for the whole day, is hardly a good choice for activating a new reference.
