“FIELD FLOWERS” MARATHON (20)
Date of activity: 02.07.2016
One outing by bicycle and activation from 1 new location.
100% green expedition.
Location: Matka Canyon near Skopje
Fixed outdoor portable (P) from Matka Canyon near Skopje (0.5 km away from previous activation place in this area - multiplier x 2).
Activation from a bank of the river Treska in the Matka Canyon. Not an easy task to find a suitable place to operate in a canyon. On the end of the activation one hour was needed to made only one QSO on 14 Mc.
100% green expedition: 42 km round trip by bicycle.
A total of 11 CW QSOs on 7, 10 and 14 Mc (32 including dupes).
RIG:
Elecraft K1 @ 5 W
12V - 1,3 Ah battery
Buldog mini paddle
10 and 14 MHz wire vertical with 5 ground radials
Tree limb as antenna support.
Total weight +/- 1.5 kg
